Katika
Katika is the stage name of the Italian singer Katica de Pascale (born October 15, 1977 in Koblenz ).
Career
Born in Germany as the daughter of a Croatian and an Italian, de Pascale grew up in Thun , Switzerland, from the age of two, and in Abruzzo in Italy from the age of 16 . At the age of 21 she moved to Vienna , where she has lived ever since. Her first mother tongue is Italian , which is also the language in which she writes and sings her songs.
In June 2011 the first Katika album Ricaricare (Italian for “charge”), produced by Wolfgang Frisch ( Sofa Surfers ), and the video for Donna were released . Musically, her music moves between bossa nova , chanson and the traditions of Italian cantautori , instrumented partly with acoustic instruments ( Alex Pinter git., Barbara Paierl sax. Voc., Lorenzo Gangi perc., Martin Heinzle b.), Partly with electronica . She mentions Beth Gibbons , Chet Baker and Zélia Fonseca as influences . The song M'immagino served as the soundtrack for the trailer for the Vienna film festival identities 2011.
