Katrin Huss

Katrin Huss (born May 8, 1969 in Wolfen ) is a German journalist and television presenter .

Life

Katrin Huss was born in Wolfen and grew up in Delitzsch . After graduating from high school, she did a two-year internship as a childcare worker. She then completed a journalism and sports studies at the University of Leipzig and also worked at various radio stations, including Radio Leipzig . There she designed the satirical magazine “Leipziger Allerlei”.

Later she went to television and did an internship at MDR . Sports reporting in particular was her profession and she pursued the goal of becoming a sports reporter.

Through a casting of the volunteers in 1995 she was discovered as the new "MDR face". From then on, she moderated the MDR evening program and the ARD / MDR program window. During this time she was already working as an editor. At that time she also worked as a gala and trade fair presenter.

In 1995 she took part in the election for World Miss University . In 2002 she made her debut together with the composer Hans Blum with the release of the single Im Wagen vor mir (The Other Version) as a pop singer.

Through another casting, Katrin Huss came to the afternoon show here from four in April 1998 , which she moderated from Monday to Friday, alternating with her colleagues Peter Imhof and Franziska Schenk and Andreas Fritsch until mid-December 2008 . Due to the restructuring of the program, she moderated it from January to July 2009 together with her colleague Mario D. Richardt . From then on, Huss moderated the program - since 2014 MDR at 4 - alternating with Imhof and Fritsch, who was replaced by Anja Koebel in 2014 . During this time she interviewed around 2000 guests.

Furthermore, from 2003 to the end of 2011, Huss presented the program Café Trend on MDR, which was broadcast on Saturdays. She also works as a moderator of events as well as galas and panel discussions, conducts interviews with prominent personalities and runs a yoga studio in Markkleeberg .

After more than 18 years, Huss quit her job at MDR at 4 in July 2016 and denounced "opinion making" at her former station.

About her time as a television journalist, she wrote the book Die darut sichwas!

Katrin Huss lives in the Leipzig district .
