Katrin Neudolt

Katrin Neudolt (born May 11, 1989 in Vienna ) is an Austrian badminton player .

Life

Katrin Neudolt grew up in Maria Enzersdorf . Between 2008 and 2009 she studied medical informatics at the Vienna University of Technology and since 2009 at the Center for Sport Science and University Sport (ZSU) of the University of Vienna Sport Science .

She is an army athlete in the Austrian Armed Forces .

Athletic career

She started in 2006 for the Vienna Deaf Sports Club 1901 (WGSC 1901) and since 1998 for Badminton Mödling from her hometown in the regional league and has already achieved several successes at national and regional level. Because of her hearing impairment, she also takes part in tournaments for the deaf. In 2007 she was a member of the Austrian team at the second World Deaf Championships in Mülheim an der Ruhr . There she finished ninth in women's singles and eleventh in mixed. In the following year Neudolt was able to win in all three possible competitions of the Austrian State Championships for the Deaf (singles, doubles and mixed), secured silver in the U-19 classification of the Austrian championship in doubles and third place in singles and reached the double finals in Lower Austria National championship in the adult category. In 2009 she traveled to the Deaflympics in the Taiwanese capital Taipei . However, she failed both in singles and in mixed in the second round. Austria dropped out of the team competition due to Silke Reisenberger's injury.

  • In November 2007 Neudolt was named Sportswoman of the Year by the Austrian Deaf Sports Association.
