Katzenbach is the smallest district of the local community Hütschenhausen in the district of Kaiserslautern in Rhineland-Palatinate . The place has around 620 inhabitants.

Katzenbach is located in the Landstuhler Bruch in the northeast of the municipality. Structurally, it has now grown together with the neighboring town of Spesbach . The Eichenbach flows through the village . The eponymous Katzenbach touches the southern edge of the settlement area and flows into the Eichenbach to the southeast of the town.
history
The first written mention of the place took place in 1267. Until 1798 the place was part of the Electoral Palatinate . From 1798 to 1862 the place belonged to the canton Landstuhl . In 1815 the place had 280 inhabitants. From 1816 he was also part of the Kingdom of Bavaria . From 1818 to 1862 he was a member of the Landkommissariat Homburg ; from this the district office of Homburg emerged. Since part of the district office - including Homburg itself - was added to the newly created Saar area in 1920 , the place moved to the newly created district office of Landstuhl . In 1938 the place was incorporated into the district of Kaiserslautern . After the Second World War , Katzenbach became part of the then newly formed state of Rhineland-Palatinate within the French occupation zone . As part of the first Rhineland-Palatinate administrative reform, Katzenbach was incorporated into Hütschenhausen on June 7, 1969
Infrastructure
District roads 4 and 6 run through Katzenbach . The federal motorway 62 is also to the east of the village . The only local cultural monument is the village community center , which was built in 1911 and is located in the local Brunnenstrasse . The Luther elm is also a natural monument along Brunnenstrasse .
