Katzenrüti (also spelled Chatzenrüti) is a hamlet in the municipality of Rümlang in the Dielsdorf district of the canton of Zurich .

geography

Katzenrüti is located southwest of Rümlang in the Glatttal region in the Zurich Unterland at 455 m above sea level. M.

A little to the west is the border to the municipality of Regensdorf , which is already in the Furttal . In the south, on the other hand, the city of Zurich borders with the Affoltern district . This border is mostly marked by the Katzenbach , which has one of its springs in the nearby Katzensee .

history

Earlier names recorded in writing are Katzenriuti , Katzenrüty , Katzenrütihof and Katzen-Rüti .

The most famous resident of Katzenrüti was the small jog , a reformer of agriculture. Today a plaque commemorates him.
