Kaulbach is the smaller of two districts of the local community Kreimbach-Kaulbach in the Kusel district in Rhineland-Palatinate .

history
At times Kaulbach belonged to the Electoral Palatinate . From 1798 to 1814, when the Palatinate was part of the French Republic (until 1804) and then part of the Napoleonic Empire , Kaulbach was incorporated into the canton of Wolfstein . Then the place changed to the Kingdom of Bavaria . From 1818 to 1862 he was a member of the Kusel Land Commissioner ; from this the district office Kusel emerged. In 1928 Kaulbach had 295 residents who lived in 60 residential buildings. The Catholics belonged to the parish of Wolfstein at the time , while the Protestants belonged to that of Rothselberg . From 1938 the place was part of the district of Kusel . After the Second World War , Kaulbach became part of the then newly formed state of Rhineland-Palatinate within the French occupation zone . In the course of the first administrative reform in Rhineland-Palatinate, Kaulbach was merged on June 7, 1969 with the neighboring community of Kreimbach to form the new local community of Kreimbach-Kaulbach .

Kreimbach had a stop on the Lautertalbahn until 2000 . After the settlement area of Kaulbach had merged with that of Kreimbach over the decades, it was given up in favor of the new Kreimbach-Kaulbach stop nearby.
