Kay is a village in the independent town of Straubing in Lower Bavaria .

It is located about five kilometers west of the Straubing city center. The settlement structure of the place runs along the state road 2142 , which connects Straubing with Geiselhöring and Mallersdorf-Pfaffenberg . Kay is dominated by agriculture. In the village there is the Catholic church Maria Magdalena as a subsidiary church of the parish of Alburg . A public transport connection to the Straubing city center exists, apart from the school bus service, from Alburg, three kilometers to the east.

As part of the former municipality of Alburg in what was then the district of Straubing , Kay came to the independent city of Straubing on July 1, 1972 as part of the regional reform in Bavaria .
