Kay Mierendorff
Kay Mierendorff (born June 3, 1946 in Berlin , † October 10, 2012 in Naples , Florida ) was a West Berlin escape helper.
Life
He was a nephew of the politician Carlo Mierendorff . He helped over 1000 GDR citizens to flee to West Berlin and only narrowly escaped death in 1982 by an explosives attack by the Ministry for State Security . His wife died of its late effects.
