Kefersheim is a former place southeast of Kirchenbollenbach ( Birkenfeld district ). The place was leveled in 1939 as a result of the construction of the Baumholder military training area and thus deserted .

history

The place was 922 for a donation to the Albanskloster in Mainz mentioned as "Keberesheim" and was at the top near one of the few places with the extension "-heim".

Due to the resolutions at the Congress of Vienna (1815), Kefersheim (then "Keffesheim") became part of the Principality of Lichtenberg and was assigned to the mayor's office of Sien in the canton of Grumbach. In 1834 Kefersheim came to the Kingdom of Prussia together with the Principality of Lichtenberg and now belonged to the St. Wendel district in the Trier administrative district of the Rhine province .

In 1933 Kefersheim still had 210 inhabitants. Only a small chapel remained of the place, which a returnees from the First World War had built out of gratitude. Kefersheim also included the "Neuhof" founded in the 19th century, the "Stenzhornerhof" founded in 1737 and the formerly lordly Rhine and Wildgrave " Wickenhof " , which can be traced back to 1518 . Most of the population moved to the neighboring towns.
