Keiko Eto

Keiko Etō ( Japanese 衛 藤 恵 子 , Etō Keiko ; born January 11, 1953 in Miyazaki , Japan ) is a Japanese composer and singer .

Life

She first studied singing and from 1979 composition with Heinrich Gattermeyer and Robert Schollum at the University of Music and Performing Arts Vienna . In 1987 she gave her first portrait concert in Vienna and completed her studies.

She completed further studies with Erich Urbanner in 1996 with a master's degree .

Keiko Etō is the administrative director of the Kyūshū / Okinawa Composers' Association . She organized a festival for contemporary music . Stylistically it can be assigned to the New Vienna School .
