Keitani Graham

Keitani Graham (born February 1, 1980 in Kealakekua , Hawaii , United States , † December 6, 2012 in Chuuk ) was a Micronesian wrestler .

Keitani Graham grew up in Hawaii. He attended the Punahou School , where he practiced athletics, and the Catholic College of the Holy Cross in Worcester , Massachusetts , where he switched to the decathlon . In 2003 he taught at the central middle school on Oahu . He then became the executive director of Ship / Hoops , a nonprofit that gave children access to education and sports. On Chuuk he was also one of a group of people who campaigned for a school to be built. He was also active in the local Catholic community.

As a wrestler, Graham took part in the 2012 Olympics . He was the first Olympic wrestler in Micronesia, was revered almost like a hero there and was considered one of the greatest athletes the country has ever had. At the games in London he failed in the qualification of the Greco-Roman competition in the lightweight class at the American Charles Betts .

After a heart attack, he suddenly died at the age of 32.
