Keith Edwin Hefner (born January 5, 1929 in Chicago , Illinois - † April 8, 2016 in Beverly Hills , California ) was an American actor and composer and the younger brother of Playboy founder Hugh Hefner .

Life

Keith Hefner's television career began in the early 1950s when he starred in the television series Toby's Tip Top Merry Go Round . Later Hefner was also active as an actor and played roles in the television series Mini-Max and the drama film Star 80 . After his acting career, he mainly had smaller guest appearances in TV shows related to Playboy and his brother Hugh Hefner, in particular The Girls of the Playboy Mansion , which most recently saw the private life of his brother Hugh Hefner and his friends Crystal Hefner and Karissa Shannon and Kristina Shannon at the Playboy Mansion .

In 1985, Hefner suffered a minor stroke, but it had no lasting effects. He died on April 8, 2016, just one day before his brother's 90th birthday.
