Kelheimwinzer is a district of the city of Kelheim in the Lower Bavarian district of Kelheim . Until 1978 it formed an independent municipality.

location

Kelheimwinzer is located on the Danube about three kilometers east of the Kelheim town center on the KEH 38 district road.

history

On May 10, 1138, the Rohr canon monastery received an estate with several farms and vineyards in Kelheimwinzer, which was followed by other estates in the course of the 12th century.

In the Salbuch of Stift Niedermünster zu Regensburg from 1444 reference is made to an old law from 1311, according to which the Weinzierl of Kelheimwinzer and Herrnsaal , insofar as they were the custodians of the monastery, were allowed to pour their own plant (the Baierwein ) on their property. In 1484, 1497, 1527 and 1585 there was a dispute over the licensing law in Kelheimwinzer.

In 1472 Kelheimwinzer received an early measurement benefit. The curate beneficiary belonged to the parish Obersaal until the parish elevation in 1924. Kelheim winemakers were often hit by floods. An engraving by Michael Wening around 1700 shows the former Kelheim winemaker from the Niedermünster monastery.

In 1840 Kelheimwinzer had 45 houses and 212 residents. After the end of the Second World War, the population of the place rose rapidly. On May 1, 1978, the community of Kelheimwinzer was incorporated into the city of Kelheim as part of the regional reform in Bavaria .
