Kemal Ishmael (born May 6, 1991 in Miami , Florida , United States ) is an American American football player who last played for the Atlanta Falcons in the position of safety in the NFL . He is currently a free agent .

Career

Ishmael played college football for the University of Central Florida . In the 2013 NFL draft , he was selected by the Atlanta Falcons in the seventh round as the 243rd player. In his first season he could not prevail and only came on four missions. But already in his second season he was part of the regular staff and scored one interception per game on days 9 to 11 . He also scored his first and so far only touchdown against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers after an interception. He was put on the injury list on December 16, 2016 because of a shoulder injury. The Falcons reached the Super Bowl LI , which was lost at 28:34. However, due to his injury, he could not participate in this game.
