Kemal Monteno
Kemal Monteno (born September 17, 1948 in Sarajevo , Yugoslavia , † January 21, 2015 in Zagreb , Croatia ) was a Bosnian pop singer and songwriter.
Life
He was the son of an Italian and a Bosnian. His first song Lidija was released in 1967. With hits like Nekako s proljeća and Sarajevo ljubavi moja he celebrated great success in the former Yugoslavia . His biggest hit was Nije htjela , which became an evergreen . He also recorded this in a duet with the Croatian interpreter Oliver Dragojević .
In the course of his career he recorded numerous duets with performers from all over the former Yugoslavia, such as Paula Jusić , Neda Ukraden , Tereza Kesovija , Jellena , Crvena Jabuka , Dušan Svilar , Danijela Martinović and many more.
Monteno died on January 21, 2015 in Zagreb due to sepsis caused by complications after a kidney transplant .
