The Kemp Peninsula is an icy, jagged, around 42 km long and 8-20 km wide peninsula on the Lassiter Coast of Palmer Lands on the Antarctic Peninsula . It rises moderately up to 305 m and lies between Mason Inlet and Mossman Inlet .
It was first sighted in December 1940 on a flight during the United States Antarctic Service Expedition (1939-1941). The mapping was carried out by the Ronne Antarctic Research Expedition (1947-1948) under the direction of the US polar explorer Finn Ronne in conjunction with the Falkland Islands Dependencies Survey . The latter named the peninsula after the British marine biologist Stanley Wells Kemp (1882–1945).
