The Kempinskiberg is with a height of 2,187 meters one of the highest mountains in Namibia . He is part of the south-east of Windhoek lies Auas Mountains , a 50 km long mountain range with a width of only 10 km, the ridge line is average at 2,000 m .

Ebracteola montis-moltkei , a species of the midday flower family , is endemic in the Auas Mountainsand occurs only on the Kempinskiberg and on the eastern slope of the Moltkeblick .
