The Kenai Mountains are a mountain range of the North American coastal mountains on the Kenai Peninsula of the US state Alaska .
They extend over 230 km in north-south and 430 km in east-west direction from the southern tip of the peninsula to the Chugach Mountains and cover an area of 26,512 km². The highest mountain is the Truuli Peak with 2015 m .
The Sargent and Harding Icefields are in the Kenai Mountains. Many glaciers, such as the Bear or the Exit Glacier , have their nutrient areas in these inland ice sheets. The meltwater flows across the Kenai , Russian and Resurrection rivers to the Gulf of Alaska , the Cook Inlet and the Prince William Sound .
