The Kenai River is a 132 km long river on the Kenai Peninsula in Alaska .
It rises from Kenai Lake in the Kenai Mountains , flows westwards and flows into the Cook Inlet at the village of Kenai .
In the Kenai National Wildlife Refuge, the Kenai River flows through Skilak Lake . The Sterling Highway largely follows the course of the river to Soldotna .
