Kenan Yelek (born August 15, 1975 in Giresun ) is a former Turkish football player and coach. Through his many years of work for Samsunspor , he is associated with this association.

Player career

society

Yelek began with the club football in the youth of the Istanbul club Kartalspor and started his professional career in 1994 with the then third division Gebzespor . For this club he played the next three seasons and moved in the summer of 1997 to the Istanbul first division relegated Zeytinburnuspor .

After Yelek worked two seasons for Zeytinburnuspor, he went to the top Turkish league, in the 1st Lig , to Altay Izmir in the summer of 1999 . For this club he only played one season and moved to the first division Samsunspor after missing relegation . At Samsunspor he immediately established himself as a regular player and later rose to become a leading player. In 2004 he was nominated for the Turkish national team . In the 2005/06 season, his club missed relegation. Yelek then remained loyal to his club and went with the TFF 1st Lig . Here he played for Samsunspor until the summer of 2011, of which he was the team captain for the last few years. He ended the 2010/11 season with his team as runner-up in the TFF 1. Lig and thus rose again to the Süper Lig after a six-year absence . After the promotion, Yelek's expired contract was no longer renewed. Yelek then took this end of the contract as an opportunity to end his career.
