The Kenmetiu - Pavia deities included in ancient Egypt to the second category of four divine Pavia groupings. More details about the activities of the Kenmetiu baboon deities are not yet known.

In addition to the Kenmeti baboon, three other baboon deities are known: Wpwtj , S3w and Bntj . The Kenmeti baboons were also divided into female and male baboon deities. The male Kenmeti baboon is iconographically shown standing with arms raised, while the female Kenmeti baboons formed their own group of gods (see also Kenmetiet ).

Mythological aspects

The baboon deities lived in the ancient Egyptian country of Utenet , which in turn was divided into different districts. In Egyptian mythology , Utenet was also the region of the Eye of Re , in which the deities Min and Re stayed as the rejoicing baboon and Chepri as the "baboon of the duat ".

In the area of ​​the Kenmeti baboon deities the Bhntj baboon gods also lived. In various sacrificial rituals , the Kenmeti baboon gods worship other superordinate gods in a submissive attitude.
