Kent Monroe Ferguson (born March 9, 1963 in Cedar Rapids ) is a retired American diver . He started jumping from the 1-meter and 3-meter board. Ferguson competed in the Olympics once and became world champion in 1991.

Ferguson started diving when he was eleven. In 1991 he celebrated his first and also greatest sporting successes. He first took part in the World Cup in Perth . From the 3-meter board he was world champion ahead of Tan Liangde and Albin Killat . In the same year he started at the Pan-American Games in Havana and won the 3-meter competition again. The following year, Ferguson qualified for the Olympic Games in Barcelona . He also started here from the 3-meter board and reached the final, where he finally came in fifth.

In the following years, Ferguson missed the season highlights due to a back injury. He did not return until 1996, but could not qualify for the Olympic Games in Atlanta . His last international competition was the 1998 World Cup in Perth, where he competed for the first time in the 3-meter synchronized jumping and was fifth.

Ferguson won six national championship titles.
