Kent Smith

Frank Kent Smith (born March 19, 1907 in New York City , New York - † April 23, 1985 in Woodland Hills , California ) was an American actor .

Life

Kent Smith assisted a vaudeville magician as a child and founded an amateur actor troupe during his student days. In 1932 he made the leap to Broadway , and in 1936 made his film debut. Smith mostly played supporting roles, especially elegant managers or politicians. Towards the end of his acting career, Smith also appeared in television series such as Invasion of Wega and Peyton Place .
