history

Ketschendorf was first mentioned in a document in the 12th century. It is on the same level as Seigendorf and Frankendorf . The manor was not always in one hand. In addition to the royal Bamberg and stiebarian fiefs, the St. Stephan monastery, the citizen hospital and the Holy Sepulcher monastery held fief rights.

The place was incorporated into Buttenheim on January 1, 1972.

chapel

The village chapel was built in the neo-Gothic style in 1892/93 and consecrated to the Sacred Heart of Jesus. The Sacred Heart Festival, which is celebrated every year with a large procession through the town, is a special highlight of the year.
