Kettleholm is a hamlet in the Scottish Council Area Dumfries and Galloway or the traditional county of Dumfriesshire . It is located around five kilometers south of Lockerbie on the right bank of the Water of Milk .
history
Kettleholm is a relatively young settlement. It was built in the course of the 19th century as a housing estate on the estate of the Castlemilk mansion , which was built in 1866 to a design by Scottish architect David Bryce for the politician Robert Jardine, 1st Baronet . Bryce also took over the planning for the neo-Gothic St Mungo Parish Church , completed in 1877 . In 1908 the hamlet received a community hall.

The secondary road B723 runs through Kettleholm. It connects the village in the north to the A74 (M) and the A709 in the center of Lockerbies. In the south it ends after twelve kilometers in the center of Annan . Before that, the B723 crosses the A75 ( Stranraer - Gretna Green ).
