The club bertram ( Anacyclus clavatus ) is a species of the sunflower family (Asteraceae).

features

The Keulen-Bertram is an annual plant that reaches heights of 15 to 50 centimeters. The leaves are 2-3-fold pinnate with narrow, finely tipped sections. The heads have a diameter (excluding the ray florets) of 15 to 20 mm. The bracts are ovate-lanceolate, pointed, edged white or purple and have no appendages. The rays are 7 to 14 millimeters long and white. Sometimes they are short, upright and no longer than the shell. After the flowering period, the flower stems are thickened towards the top. The outer fruits have upright, round lobes at the tip of the wings.

The chromosome number is 2n = 18.

Occurrence

The Keulen-Bertram occurs in the Mediterranean in sparse forests, on pastures and on sand and gravel from the sea beach to the montane level. In southern Europe he is a character species of the Hordeetum leporini from the Hordeion Association.
