Kevin Aje
Kevin Joseph Aje (born April 25, 1934 in Amper , † May 27, 2019 in Sokoto ) was a Nigerian clergyman and Roman Catholic bishop of Sokoto .
Life
He was ordained a priest on June 12, 1966 by the Bishop of Jos , John J. Reddington SMA .
Pope John Paul II appointed him Coadjutor Bishop of Sokoto on October 15, 1982 . The Pope personally donated him episcopal ordination on January 6 of the following year ; Co - consecrators were Duraisamy Simon Lourdusamy , Secretary of the Congregation for the Evangelization of Peoples , and Eduardo Martínez Somalo , substitute for the State Secretariat .
With the resignation of Michael James Dempsey OP on December 3, 1984, he succeeded him as Bishop of Sokoto. On June 10, 2011, Benedict XVI. his age-related resignation.
