Kevin Maek (born November 4, 1988 in East Berlin ) is a German football player . He is used in defense but played in midfield early in his career .
career
In his youth, Kevin Maek, the son of the former GDR Oberliga player Mario Maek , played for the Berlin clubs Marzahner SV, BFC Dynamo , FC Nordost and Tennis Borussia , before moving to VfL Wolfsburg in 2005 . There he moved up to the squad of the second senior team for the 2007/08 season . After a year, however, he moved to 1. FC Union Berlin , where he made his professional debut in the 3rd division on November 2, 2008 , when he replaced Nico Patschinski in the 84th minute of the 1-0 home win against Fortuna Düsseldorf . At the end of the season he was promoted to the 2nd Bundesliga with his team . However, he himself was only substituted in in the final quarter of an hour in all of his 10 missions. For the following season he joined the Werder Bremen reserve team and continued to play in the third division. In Bremen he prevailed and became a regular player, but due to a torn ligament in March 2010, he only played 22 out of 38 possible games in the 2009/10 season, in which, however, he was mostly used for the full 90 minutes.
In the 2011/12 season Kevin Maek moved to the 2nd Bundesliga at Alemannia Aachen , where he signed a two-year contract.
After not playing a single league game in Aachen, he moved to the third division 1. FC Saarbrücken for the 2012/13 season . In his second year he was relegated with the FCS from the 3rd division. In 2014 he moved to SV Elversberg in the Regionalliga Südwest. In 2018 he moved to league competitor FC 08 Homburg . After numerous injuries, he switched to SG unit Zepernick in summer 2020 .
