Kevin Richardson (singer)
Kevin Scott Richardson (born October 3, 1971 in Lexington , Kentucky , USA ) is an American singer . He became known as a member of the boy band Backstreet Boys .
Life
Richardson grew up on a 10 acre farm with his parents and two older brothers, Jerald Wayne Jr. and Tim up. When he was nine years old, the family moved to Estill County , where his father ran a summer camp. At school, Richardson played on the football team, worked at camp, and sang in the church choir. After teaching himself to play the piano, the keyboard became his constant companion and he began to write songs.
After graduating from high school, he and his brother Jerald left Kentucky and they both went to Orlando . There Richardson earned his living as a tour guide at Disney World and a dance teacher. He worked as a model for Versace .
On August 26, 1991, Richardson's father died of cancer after two years of unsuccessful therapy. To get over this loss, he returned to Florida .
His dream of a great career as a singer or an actor brought him to countless auditions and auditions. A meeting with Johnny Wright a year later led him to Howie Dorough , Alexander James McLean and Nick Carter . With his cousin Brian Littrell , the Backstreet Boys were finally complete.
Also on his initiative came the break with Lou Pearlman and his record company. They signed a record deal with The Firm , where they had a lot more say and better financial terms.
Kevin Richardson has been married to actress Kristin Kay Willits since June 17, 2000. Their first child, a son named Mason, was born on July 3, 2007. Their second child together, a son named Maxwell, was born on July 10, 2013.
On June 23, 2006, Kevin Richardson announced that he would be leaving the Backstreet Boys after 13 years to pursue other interests. The rest of the Backstreet Boys let Richardson know that he was welcome back to the band anytime.
On April 29, 2012, during a live concert in London (which was broadcast in over 400 cinemas), it was announced that Kevin Richardson is returning to the Backstreet Boys and will be releasing a new album in 2013.
