(1540) Kevola is an asteroid of the main belt , which on 16 November 1938 by the Finnish astronomer liisi oterma in Turku was discovered.

The name of the asteroid is reminiscent of the Finnish Kevola observatory , which was operated by Hilkka Rantaseppä.
