Kichatna Spire is the highest mountain in the Kichatna Mountains in the western part of the Alaska Range in Alaska (USA).
The 2739 m high mountain belongs to a group of peaks known as Cathedral Spiers . On the northwest flank is the upper end of the Cul-de-Sac Glacier , on the northeast flank of the Shadows Glacier . A ridge leads to The Citadel summit, 1.29 km to the north .
Ascent history
The first ascent was made on September 23, 1966 by Arthur Davidson and Richard GC Millikan. The mountain offers several challenging routes for climbers . On July 13 and 14, 2005, Joseph Puryear and Chad Kellogg climbed the summit via The Black Crystal Arete (VI 5.10 A2, 900m).
