action
Mr. Negaal is a reigning ex- kickboxing champion who has had nothing to do with fighting for years. But his followers have it. Negaal actually runs a league that only accepts the best of the best. Those who refuse will be challenged in a fight against their own boss. Here defeat means death. When he accidentally kills the best friend of combat expert Matt Reeves, the latter declares a private war on him. Thirsty for blood revenge, he makes his way into Negaal's tournament. Here he defeats everyone until it finally comes to a duel against Neegal, in which Matt initially loses his self-confidence and is therefore defeated. But when the ghost of his friend appears to him during the fight, which gives him to understand that he can defeat Neegal, the tide turns and Matt wins. In the end, he seems to have found his inner peace through Negaal's death.
criticism
The lexicon of international films wrote that the film was an “untrustworthy and predictable action food that follows the well-trodden paths of the genre” and “tries to aestheticize the brutalities of the thugs by all means”.
