Career
College (2004 to 2008)
Langhorne studied at the University of Maryland, College Park from 2004 to 2008 . She graduated in communication . Langhorne played for the Maryland Terrapins , the university's NCAA women's basketball team , during this time . In 2006 she won the NCAA Division I Basketball Championship with the Terrapins . In 2007 she won the U-21 World Cup with the United States women's national basketball team. She is also the first Terrapins player to score over 2,000 points and 1,000 rebounds while in college.
WNBA (since 2008)
Langhorne was selected sixth in the 2008 WNBA Draft by the Washington Mystics . She made her WNBA debut on May 5th in a preseason game against the Sacramento Monarchs . In her first season in Washington she was mostly not in the starting line-up and with 15.8 minutes of playing time per game, this was not above average either. She finally ended her first season with an average of 4.8 points and 4 rebounds per game. Another setback was the team performance, the Mystics clearly missed the playoffs. In the 2009 season , everything should change. Langhorne already demonstrated her talent in the pre-season and showed good performances. Although she was on the field for an average of 25 minutes at the beginning of the season, she regularly scored over ten points and seven rebounds per game. As a result, she played more and more often from the beginning and her playing time soon rose to over 30 minutes per game. Her second season in the WNBA she finally ended with an average of 12.0 points and 7.9 rebounds with a playing time of 29.8 minutes per game. Because of this increase in performance, she was awarded the WNBA Most Improved Player Award . With this good performance, she also had a large part in the first-time qualification for the playoffs since 2006. From the 2010 season Longhorne was in the starting five of the team in all missions for the Mystics . The great team success did not materialize. In the six years in Washington she reached the playoffs three times with the team, but each ended in the first round with the elimination.
She has been playing for the Seattle Storm team since the 2014 season . There she was also in the starting line-up in all her games with the team. After the end of the 2016 season , she reached the playoffs for the first time in Seattle. There, too, they ended with the elimination in the first round. Also in the 2017 season was in the starting line-up of the team in all 34 games of the season and was an important part of Storm. Despite their good performance, the team failed again in the first playoff round.
