The Kickxellomycotina are a subdivision of mushrooms that was first described in 2007 and contains some orders of the earlier yoke mushrooms .

features

They are saprobionic fungi or myco parasites or obligate symbionts . The thallus rises from an attachment to other mushrooms, which is designed as a haustorium . In addition to the thallus, branched, septate hyphae can also be formed. The mycelium is branched or unbranched, and regularly septate. The septa have disc-shaped cavities with stoppers.

The asexual reproduction is via one or zweisporige Merosporangien, Trichosporen or arthrospores. The sexual reproduction is done by round or biconical Zygospores.

Systematics

The Kickxellomycotina comprise some orders of the earlier yoke mushrooms. These are currently considered to be invalidly published taxons, and they are polyphyletic. In the current system of mushrooms , therefore, the yoke mushrooms were dissolved.
