Kicras ( Kiras, Quirás ) is an East Timorese town in Suco Clacuc ( Fatuberlio administrative office , Manufahi municipality ). It is located on the coast of the Timor Sea in the east at an altitude of 21 m . The state capital Dili is about 78 km north. The inhabitants speak Tetum Terik as their mother tongue .
history
During the Second World War , most of the last Australian soldiers on Timor were evacuated from Kicras on the night of January 9-10, 1943, together with 50 Portuguese from the destroyer HMAS Arunta .
