Kidron Valley
The Kidron Valley ( Hebrew נַ֣חַל קִדְרֹ֔ון Naḥal Qidron ; Arabic وادي الجوز Wadi al-Jschauz or Wadi el-Joz ),also called Tal Joschafat or Josaphat in the section between the Temple Mount and the Mount of Olives , is a small valley that separates the Temple Mount and the Old City of Jerusalem in the west and the Mount of Olives in the east and forms an arc runs through the Judah desert to the Dead Sea . The Wadi Kidron is now partly underground.
Significant sites in and around the Kidron Valley, the Church of All Nations in the Garden of Gethsemane , the great Jewish cemetery , Absalom grave which falsely David 's son Absalom is attributed, as well as the grave of Bnei Hezir , of Zacharias and Marie grave .
In 1932 Eleazar Sukenik discovered an Aramaic inscription in a grave in the Kidron Valley, which uses the word Kokh .
In its further course the river is heavily polluted by sewage and garbage and only reaches the Dead Sea as a foul-smelling sewer.
