Kieran O'Neill Dowell (born October 10, 1997 in Ormskirk ) is an English football player who has been under contract with the first division club Everton since 2014 . He is currently playing on loan at the second division club Wigan Athletic .
Career
Everton FC
Kieran Dowell, who comes from his own youth academy, made his debut on December 11, 2014 in a 0-1 home defeat of FC Everton against FK Krasnodar in the 2014/15 UEFA Europa League . He made his first appearance in the Premier League on April 30, 2016 in a 2-1 home win for his team against AFC Bournemouth .
On August 3, 2017, the 19-year-old junior player moved to the second division Nottingham Forest on loan for the 2017/18 season .
National team
Kieran Dowell, who had previously been part of various English junior teams, was appointed to the English squad for the 2017 U-20 World Cup in South Korea in the summer of 2017 . For the English U-20s he played all three group matches and scored the 1-0 winner in the last group match against the South Korean U-20s . After further successes over the national teams of Costa Rica, Mexico and Italy, the English team moved into the final. In the game in the Suwon World Cup Stadium , the team around Kieran Dowell defeated the Venezuelan U-20s 1-0.
