Kike Perdomo

Enrique "Kike" Perdomo (born November 6, 1961 in Santa Cruz de Tenerife ) is a Spanish saxophonist and flautist of fusion and flamenco jazz .

Live and act

Perdomo learned to play the guitar by himself at the age of 9, before studying harmony , composition, improvisation and flute at the Centro de Estudios Musicales in his hometown and deepening his studies at the Conservatorio Superior de Música de Santa Cruz de Tenerife . From 1986 he worked as a professional musician and initially appeared in the Canary Islands with fusion bands such as BK4 and JackCannon and the folk jazz group Borondón . In 1989 he moved to Madrid , where he also attended workshops with Gary Bartz , Dave Schnitter , Greg Lyons and Greg Badolato. In 1991 he returned to Tenerife , where he founded the Midi Doméstico group. To present his album Mbalax , he went on tour across Spain in 1994, also in 1997 with the big band of Miguel Ríos and in recent years several times with the flamenco jazz group Ziriab around Alexander Sputh and Pedro Sanz. With Torsten de Winkel's band and his Bimbache project, he performed in New York City and several times on El Hierro . He also worked with Chuck Loeb , Richard Bona , Kevin Mahogany , Chano Domínguez , Javier Colina , Israel Sandoval, and Jorge Pardo .
