reception

criticism

"In his 1988 volume" Kilroy - Voices in the Subway ", Jürg Federspiel interprets this mythical figure as the director of the underworld, who makes eight people speak in the New York subway. For a moment it enables them to step out of the anonymous crowd and stage their lives, it gives space to their wishes, hopes and attempts at meaning. "

- Jürg Huber in the Neue Zürcher Zeitung

Dubbing

The Basel composer David Sontòn-Caflisch set the text to an opera that premiered in 2005 in the Chur City Theater . Since Federspiel lived in the same house as Sontòn-Caflisch, he was able to listen to them composing; "He heard that his text was worth looking into".
