Kim Myong-won (born July 15, 1983 in Pyongyang ) is a North Korean football player .

Career

Kim appears internationally as a player in the Amrokgang sports group , the club of the Ministry of State Security.

The offensive player was a member of the North Korean national squad as early as 2003 and during this time he played in the Asian Cup qualification and in the finals in the King's Cup . In 2008 he was part of the squad in the final round of the East Asian Championship , when North Korea finished fourth and last. In qualifying for the 2010 East Asian Cup , he surprisingly failed with North Korea at Hong Kong.

During the successful qualification for the 2010 World Cup , Kim came on three short appearances as a substitute. For the World Cup finals , Kim was surprisingly nominated as a goalkeeper and thus nominally occupied one of the three goalkeeper positions required by FIFA in the 23-man squad . However, he was not allowed to be used as an outfield player, as players nominated as goalkeepers may only be used in goal according to FIFA guidelines. During the World Cup tournament, Ri Myong-guk was in goal in all three games, so Kim did not play at the tournament.

In July 2011 he moved to the Mongolian football club FC Ulaanbaatar .
