Kim Song-gi (born October 23, 1988 in Hyōgo , Japan ) is a Japanese-born football player of Korean descent who competes internationally for North Korea .

Career

Kim attended the Korea University in Kodaira , which was ideologically oriented towards North Korea, until 2010 before he was signed by the J-League club Cerezo Osaka in 2011 . In 2013 he was loaned to the second division club Vissel Kobe in Kobe . After the end of his contract in Osaka, he signed a two-year contract with Mito Hollyhock in Mito in early 2014 . After 47 second division games, he moved to league rivals FC Machida Zelvia for two years in 2016 . For the club from Machida , he completed 32 second division games. In 2018 he played for third division team Fujieda MYFC in Fujieda . The 2019 season he was on the field for Tochigi City FC from Tochigi . In early 2020 he signed a contract with the Nara Club . The club from Nara played in the fourth division, the Japan Football League .

National team

Internationally, Kim plays for the North Korean national soccer team . He made his debut on February 19, 2010 in the preliminary round of the AFC Challenge Cup against Kyrgyzstan, when he was in the starting line-up in a 4-0 win. Then he was also used in the last group game against the Indian U-23 selection. In the final of the tournament, which North Korea won against Turkmenistan on penalties and thus qualified for an Asian Cup for the first time since 1992 , he was not used.

A year later he was again in the squad in qualifying for the AFC Challenge Cup 2012 and was used in two of three games in the sovereign group victory.
