Takuya Kimura ( Japanese木村拓哉 (Kimura Takuya); born November 13, 1972 in Tokyo Prefecture ), nickname Kimutaku , is a Japanese singer and actor. Many of the television drama in which he appeared have been hugely successful. He was also a member of the J-Pop group SMAP from 1988 to 2016 .

Career

In 1987 a relative sent an application to the talent factory Johnny & Associates , which specializes in training handsome young men to become teen idols . He was taken into Johnny's Juniors and a member of the Skate Boys group . Skate Boys was a 12-person backup dancer troop for Hikaru Genji , a very successful group at the time. In 1988 the boy band SMAP was finally founded: Masahiro Nakai , Takuya Kimura, Gorō Inagaki , Katsuyuki Mori, Tsuyoshi Kusanagi , Shingo Katori ; However, Katsuyuki Mori left the band in the mid-1990s to become a racing driver.

In 1991 SMAP released the first single Can't Stop !! ~ Loving. on the market. However, the success left much to be desired. The first concert was also half empty. Nevertheless, SMAP gained more and more popularity - not through her singing, but through her TV show 愛 ラ ブ SMAP (Eng. Love Love SMAP ) and through her roles in TV doramas .

The breakthrough came for Kimura in 1993. He plays a leading role in the drama Asunaro Hakusho (あ す な ろ 白 書). The series is based on a manga of the same name that was very successful at the time and was also a great success.

In 1996 the Long Vacation series was a huge hit. Kimura plays the shy pianist Sena, whose roommate runs away with someone else before his wedding. The abandoned bride ( Yamaguchi Tomoko ) comes to pick up her groom for the wedding, but finds young Sena alone. The wedding falls through, but she has already given notice of her apartment and therefore blackmails Sena to let her move in with her. Gradually they fall in love with each other.

In the same year, the new weekly entertainment show SMAPxSMAP is broadcast for the first time, which adds to the further popularity of the band. SMAPxSMAP ran successfully until 2016 and had a wide fan base. In the first part of the show, a celebrity was invited to the bistro SMAP every week and placed an "order" with the bistro owner Masahiro Nakai. The other SMAP members then deliver a “cooking duel” in groups of two, the winner of which the celebrity has to choose at the end. International guests included Richard Gere , Cameron Diaz , Jackie Chan , Michael Jackson , O-Zone and many others.

In November 1999, it became the first Asian advertising medium for Levi's Jeans Company, having been named Best Jeanist , the best jeans wearer of the year, in uninterrupted order from 1994 to 1998 . The Best Jeanist award is given annually to artists by Japanese jeans manufacturers.

In 2000 he announced his wedding to another idol, Shizuka Kudō from Onyanko Club . He has two daughters with her - Kokomi and Mitsuki. He continued his successful career in TV doramas in 2000 with Beautiful Life - this was followed by successful series such as 2001 Hero , Sora kara furu ichioku no hoshi , Good Luck !! , Pride and ENGINE .

In 2004 he had a role in an international film for the first time. He starred with Zhang Ziyi , Gong Li and Faye Wong - albeit a small role without a text - in 2046 by Wong Kar-wai . Also in 2004 he spoke Hauro (Howl) in Hayao Miyazaki's The Moving Castle . In July 2006, Fuji TV aired a HERO two-hour special . Kimura appeared again with the old occupation as prosecutor Kōhei Kuryū. In the final part of Yōji Yamada's "Samurai Trilogy", Love and Honor - Bushi no ichibun , published in 2006, Kimura played the leading role of a blind samurai during the Edo period . In 2008 he played the role of Shitaro in the movie I Come with the Rain , starring Josh Hartnett.
