Kinan Jaeger

Kinan Jaeger (* 1966 in Damascus , Syria ) is a German political scientist , geographer and publicist .

After graduating from high school in 1985, Jaeger studied geography as well as political and Islamic studies at the universities in Bonn , Brisbane , Toronto and Cape Town from 1986 to 1991 . He then received his doctorate from 1992 to 1994 as part of a graduate scholarship from the Friedrich Naumann Foundation with the political scientists Manfred Funke and Hans-Adolf Jacobsen .

Since 1996 Jaeger has been teaching at the University of Bonn Institute for Political Science and Sociology on issues relating to the Middle East conflict and international security policy . Between 1999 and 2000 he also worked as a lecturer at the Otto Suhr Institute in Berlin . He also appears regularly as an expert on radio and television . Jaeger's specialist research focuses primarily on topics relating to the politics and culture of Syria , Lebanon , Iran and Israel . He also deals with the development of Islam in Germany , as well as aspects of parliamentarianism , democracy research and German foreign policy .
