King River is a small town in the Australian state of Western Australia . It is administered by Albany and is located about five miles north of Albany . Perth is about 400 kilometers away. The place is located in the traditional settlement area of the Aboriginal tribe of the Mineng .

West of the village is Willyung , northwest Millbrook , north Napier , east Kalgan and Lower King , and south Bayonet Head and Walmsley .
King River is close to the coast, but not directly on the coast. The river of the same name flows through the village and flows into an estuary . The estuary merges into Oyster Harbor .

The Bon Accord Road runs through King River . In part, undeveloped land next to this road is protected by the Bon Accord Road Nature Reserve , which only allows agricultural use with restrictions.
