Drechow Church

The Drechow Church is a 14th century church in the West Pomeranian community of Drechow and the former patronage church of the von Gadow family .
Building description
The nave with the north sacristy from the 14th / 15th centuries Century is executed in field stone, gable as well as window and portal walls in brick . Three large pointed arches can be seen on the east gable. The windows are changed segmentbogig and the jambs beveled , which downgraded the eastern half twice. The east window and the west window of the south wall are blocked.
There is a walled-up pointed arch portal on the north and south sides. The west portal shows badly damaged tracery painting from the 19th century. The later modified west gable jumps back slightly.
Furnishing
In the sacristy with ribbed vault there is a piscina .
In front of the altar there is a semicircular altar screen , like the pulpit and stalls from the beginning of the 19th century. The crucifix is from the 16th century. The gallery was built in the second half of the 18th century .
Two grave slabs are significant, such as the one by H. von Behr from the 17th century and another from the 18th / 19th century. Century; both are made of limestone. There are various graves of the von Gadow patronage family in the cemetery.
organ
The organ with a simple three-part prospectus with round arches was manufactured by Barnim Grüneberg in 1902 .
Peal
Two bells hang in the wooden belfry to the east of the church. One dates from 1733 and was manufactured by Gottlieb Metzler from Stralsund , the other was cast in 1920 by the Bochum Association for Mining and Cast Steel Manufacture.
local community
The Protestant parish has been part of the Stralsund Propstei in the Pomeranian Evangelical Church District of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in Northern Germany since 2012 . Before that she belonged to the Demmin parish of the Pomeranian Evangelical Church .
