The Kirchheimer SC is a sports club based in Kirchheim in the eastern district of Munich . It organizes 2,400 members in the eleven departments of football , handball , athletics , skiing and mountain sports , gymnastics & fitness , children's gymnastics , trekking , badminton , karate , dance sports and stick shooting . This makes it one of the largest sports clubs in the Munich district .

Soccer

The soccer department is one of the largest and most successful at KSC. The players compete in almost 20 youth, five men and one women teams. The first men's team plays in the Landesliga Bayern Südost , all home games take place on the sports facility at Merowinger Hof.

At the same time, the department also organizes international youth tournaments such as the C + R Cup (formerly OMV Cup), to which well-known clubs such as FC Bayern Munich, SK Sturm Graz and Ferencvaros Budapest used to travel. Today the cup has a somewhat more regional field of participants.

The president of the BFV and multiple interim president of the DFB , Rainer Koch , played for the first team of the Kirchheimer SC when he was young. Then he was active for the club as a referee .

athletics

With the completion of the sports facility at Merowinger Hof, the athletics department was founded in 1980. Since then, the Kirchheim athletes have taken part and achieved successes in both Bavarian, German and European championships . Ursel Rechenmacher was a defining figure in these successes.

Handball

Since the late 1980s, the KSC has also offered the opportunity to play handball in Kirchheim. The department experienced its most successful period to date between 2007 and 2014, when it was promoted to the Bavarian League together with SV Anzing in the men's and male youth classes as HSG Kirchheim-Anzing. After the dissolution of the syndicate, the Kirchheim men's and women's teams are back in the district class.

Sports facilities

Soccer players and track and field athletes traditionally take part in their competitions at the sports facility of the Merowinger Hof, indoor sports such as handball and badminton use the gyms at the Kirchheim grammar school and the local elementary schools. Since 2014 there have been rooms for strength, dance and gymnastics in the newly built Ursel-Rechenmacher-Haus.
