Kirsten Gerhard is a German television presenter , journalist and news anchor for Tagesschau , tagesschau24 and Nachtmagazin .

life and career

Kirsten Gerhard studied history and political science in Berlin .

After a traineeship at Radio ffn in Hanover , Gerhard became editor and presenter at Sat.1 . For the article What really happened? The Airbus crash near Strasbourg was awarded the Axel Springer Prize for young journalists in 1994. From this time Gerhard also worked as a freelance author for the broadcasters NDR and MDR .

In 2000 Gerhard became a writer for Spiegel TV . From 2001 to 2007 she was one of the presenters of the journal at DW-TV . She has been the spokesperson for the Tagesschau since 2008 . Since 2017, Gerhard has also acted as moderator for the night magazine .
