The Schebichbach (Czech Dřevíč ) is a left-hand tributary of the Rosenbach ( Rožanský potok ) in Rosenhain ( Rožany ) in the Czech Republic with a length of just under four kilometers.

description

The Schebichbach rises on the northeast slope of the Schwarzen Koppe at the edge of the forest of the Black Bush near Neudorf in the district of Sohland on the Spree . Its upper course initially leads south of the Müller mountain ( 401  m ) past Obersohland and the Oberhof over a length of one kilometer, piped through meadows and fields. Then the stream flows around the Hakenberge ( 404  m ) and the Brandbusch ( 443  m ) south. The part of the stream on German territory is 2.5 kilometers long, of which it forms the state border with the Czech Republic for the last 200 m from the pair of boundary signs 16 to the pair of boundary signs 16/5.

At the deserted Neuwelt ( Nový Svět ) the stream now called Dřevíč flows into Czech territory, its further course leads through Neudorf ( Nová Ves ) to Rosenhain. There it is dammed north of the Jockelsberg ( Rožanský vrch , ( 412  m )) in the Teichmühlteich ( Mlýnský rybník ). Below the church the Schebichbach flows into the Rosenbach in Rosenhain.

The stream flows in eastern directions along its entire course. It is classified as 2nd order flowing water.

nature

Since the second half of the 20th century, the brook was almost completely piped on the German side; it only flowed openly south of the fire bush over a length of 400 m until it reached the Czech Republic. The Gauchheil Prize and the Yellow Juggler Flower have settled on this section .

As a compensatory measure for road construction, the Schebichbach was renatured over a length of 1.2 km in 2011. 4.4 hectares of floodplain areas and 9 hectares of forest fringes were designed, drainage systems incorporated and three bridges for field vehicles were built.
