The Schwarze Koppe ( 469.5  m ) is a mountain in the Bautzen district in Saxony . It is located in the south of the district of Sohland on the Spree near Neudorf in the Lausitzer Bergland on the Czech border in the Black Bush.

geography

The Schwarze Koppe rises south of Neudorf and is surrounded by the Sohlander Dorfbach in the north . The mountain consists of two peaks, the main peak is preceded by a lower secondary peak to the north. There are low granodiorite cliffs on the Schwarzen Koppe. Like the Tännicht and the Brandbusch, the black bush covering the mountain is part of the extensive border forest between Upper Lusatia and Bohemia . At its foot lies Neudorf in the north, Groß Schönau in the south and Hainspach in the south-west .

The road from Neudorf to Hainspach runs west of the Schwarzen Koppe. The Friedrich-August-Höhe ( 469  m ) rises to the north, the Müllersberg ( 401  m ) and the Hakenberge ( 404  m ) to the northeast, the Brandbusch ( 443  m ) to the east, and the Spitzberg ( Špičák , 481  m ) to the south-east the Botzen ( Partizánský vrch , 543  m ) and the Breite Busch ( Širé křoví , 449  m ) and northwest of the Barthelsberg ( 462  m ) and the Kinderberg ( Liščí vrch , 480  m ).

The watershed between the catchment areas of the Spree and the Sebnitz runs over the mountain . The border water ( Hraniční potok ) rises at the northwestern foot , the brook flows southwest of the Schwarzen Koppe into the Gromenteich ( Solandský rybník ). The source of the Schebichbach lies on the northeast slope . The border hiking trail “In the footsteps of the red wood ant” leads over the Schwarze Koppe.

history

On the miles sheet , the Schwarze Koppe is referred to as Brähmrigt and its pre-peak as Oberschaar .

In the second half of the 19th century, several quarries were operated on the northern slope of the mountain. In 1930 the Sohland ski club built a new ski jump at the quarries that were abandoned at the time, with which distances of up to 20 m could be achieved. The following year the ski jump was given a 13 m high inrun tower, so that jumps of up to 30 m were now possible. The dilapidated quarry forge was expanded into a ski and hiking home in 1932. The ski jumping hill, which was ruined during the Second World War, was rebuilt in 1952 under the name 1952 "Schanze der Freunde". In 1954 a new ski hut was built near the ski jump. In 1959, the “Schanze der Freunde” was covered with plastic mats, so that the athletes were no longer dependent on sufficient amounts of snow during training and competitions. After the completion of the new Tännicht ski sports center in Sohland , the sports facilities on the Schwarzen Koppe were demolished in the 1970s.
