history
In 1800 the owner of the combined manor of Mittel- and Obersohland, Christoph August von der Sahla, had construction sites assigned in the meadow basin of the Tännichtwasser under the Tännicht. The new settlement that arose in the corridors of the Obersohland manor was officially known as Neuobersohland , popularly mostly called Tännigthäuser . Before that, the Tännicht water in the Tännichtwiesen fed numerous small ponds, most of which were already dry at the beginning of the 19th century. The two-dam pond in the meadow basin between the Bauersberg and the Lehdeberg was still tense; it was fed from the Tännichtwasser through a ditch and drained to both the Tännichtwasser and the Gründelwasser.
From the middle of the 19th century, Neuobersohland was part of the Obersohland community, and the settlement in Mittelohland was parish. Since the merger of Obersohland with Wendischsohland, Mittelohland and Niedersohland to form the municipality of Sohland on the Spree in 1877, Neuobersohland was a district of the same. In 1938 the district was given the new name Tännicht.
In the 1970s, a new winter sports center was built on Tännichtberg, which also replaced the previous hill of friendship on the Schwarzen Koppe . The Tännichtschanze was built between 1969 and 1972. In 1975 the school jump was built, a downhill slope was leveled and a 375 m long hook tow lift was built. The Schanzenbaude with restaurant, club room, overnight accommodation and sauna was completed in 1981. In 1998 the community had a new drag lift built.
On January 1, 2011, Tännicht was deleted as an official part of the municipality of Sohland an der Spree.
